Awe

A sugar maple tree by my parents house turned quite early this year and we were able to hold Hans up against the colors one afternoon. In one picture he's not smiling and in the other picture he's smiling, but blurry, however I still love the color's and the object! =-) His uncle and tia gave Hans a special blessings for baby calendar. This is the verse for today, Sept. 29th: You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in Your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. Psalm 139:15-16 NLT The fall weather, the colors of the leaves on the trees, the crying of my baby as he is trying to fall asleep right now (oops, maybe not that last one...), these pictures, and this verse are all reminding me today how Awesome our God truly is!

Dedication

We had a wonderful time this past weekend as we dedicated Hans at our church. We chose to dedicate Hans at our church so we could publicly declare our intention of raising Hans in a christian home and that we will do our best to show and teach Hans the love of our Lord so that he will one day choose to follow Him. We are so thankful for our friends and family and church family that have made this commitment with us. We know that Hans has a lot of people that love him and pray for him every day! This is the photo we used during the service and the verse we chose for Hans was Ephesians 1:17-18 "I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, May give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints" This verse is so powerful to me. We pray many diffe

No editing here. My son has blue eyes. And I need a new camera lens cover. =-)

Recent Happenings

Here we are on our first day of MOPS. Tom snapped the picture as we were heading out. The first day was "college" themed so we were all sporting our t-shirts and sweatshirts from our alma mater's. We had a lot of fun hanging out with the other babies (in Moppets) and the mommies in MOPS! I wanted to show you just a glimpse of how Hans is literally into everything. Crawling, Climbing. Standing. The boy is always. on. the. move!

My View.

This afternoon when I was taking the trash out, I looked up to see this little munchkin crawl to the door and find me outside through the glass. His grin was priceless especially as he proceeded it with standing up and smooshing his chubby cheeks against the glass, banging his hands as he frantically waves at me, and licking all over the place. I had Tom grab my camera inside and quickly went back out to capture this comical picture. You'll have to excuse his outfit this evening. He just finished dinner and while he is known to spit up quite often, let's just say Sweet Potatoes don't sit well with him. Actually, every time we have given him sweet potatoes (and we have for a couple months now already) he spits up A LOT but doesn't spit up this much with other solids. After tonight we've decided that it's probably best to put aside the sweet potatoes for awhile. I don't like them either so it's fine with me =-) Meanwhile, we're busy doing some t

Weekend.

It's weird to think that I'm not going to start school today. Through the years, with being a student and teacher, I think this is my second only time that I haven't been there, bright and cheery, on the "first day" of school. The first time was a year break that I took after I graduated from college and spent the year working at the golf course, traveling, and subbing here and there. And now here I am. Instead of going to bed with butterflies in my stomach as I anxiously anticipate the starting of the new year, I fell asleep reading a 34 cent American Girl book I bought at the thrift store the other day ('Kirsten's Surprise' for those of you who are wondering,..). Instead of waking up early, grabbing my class list and last minute made name tags for my students, and running out the door with my bag lunch; I woke up, had coffee with my man, and crawled around on the floor with my little man, met my mom at the church I grew up in and helped her with

Pastry and Standing Around

I'm going to start of today's post with a delicious recipe for pain au chocolate. Hmmm, let me tell you, this is delicious with coffee....or just by itself. It's super easy too! I was able to whip up a batch to send off with Tom as he went on a golf outing up north with a couple of friends. Because Hans went down for a nap and I'm about to as well, I'm just gonna put the link to the recipe here With the help of Blue Cotton Memory's step by step instructions with pictures, it sure made this recipe easy peasy. Voila... I just can't end this post without showing off Hans' latest craze. He is working very hard on his standing. He is a determined little boy and loves, loves, loves, to pull himself up to stand on. every. thing. He is practicing hard everyday which has led his mommy and daddy to place bets on when he'll start standing and walking on his own. Anyone else want in on this {friendly} bet??? =-)
