10 Minutes to a room you'll love

I'm wondering what my husband will think when he asks me "What did you do today?" and my answer won't involve shopping! Wait, I take that back, it DID involve shopping....shopping from my house (Nester Style)! The Nesting Place has been having a series on how to re-vamp rooms in your house in just 10 minutes. She encourages you to find things around your room and just add some changes here and there. I was inspired and decided to rise and shine early Saturday morning (with the help of some snow blowers outside) and apply these strategies to our ever so desperate bedroom.  I have really neglected decorating our bedroom until about 10 minutes ago so please don't judge the before pictures!  Keep in mind that I'm NOT finished yet and I may just end up going shopping OUTSIDE of the house for a few things. However, this 10 minute make-over has made our room just a bit more cozy!! Step 1 : Make the Bed  *Before* *After* Step 2: Personalize it.  Create a tables

Weekend

Oh what a great weekend together .   We caught a jazz show at the Artists Quarter and woke up to a delicious valentine's breakfast.  The best part- by far.... having a lazy weekend together. Sounds cheesy, but you definitely have to appreciate those times when they happen!

for the love of the game...

We've recently discovered a new favorite past time (Thanks to a Christmas present from Tom's lovely sister Krystal). It's called "Snatch-It!". Ever heard of it? We love to play Scrabble, but this game has introduced us to a whole new world ! =) It's played a lot faster than Scrabble and comes highly recommended. Try it out on a cold blustery day... or just a regular day... *hidden message*

Thinking about Valentines Day...

It has been a tradition in my family to have a Valentine's breakfast the morning of Valentine's Day. I remember looking forward to this so much! It was always so special! My mom would get out her best dishes and my FAV red goblets with valentine treats sprinkled everywhere. I even remember some of our food being dyed red! Last year was my first year celebrating Valentines Day MARRIED. My cooking wasn't really the greatest so I'm determined to make up for it this year! I want my family to look forward to Valentine's Day Breakfast as much as I did. My February issue of Better Homes and Gardens came a week ago so I've been pouring over the pages looking for some good ideas... Anything from table decorations to sweet treat recipes. Here are some images I found from Real Simple to encourage my vday-breakfast&treat-making skills...

Sunday

What a great day spending time with my husband! We went to church, worked out, had lunch, and hunted for the perfect bunch of white tulips...Happy Sunday and Happy February!
