Perfect Morning

Morning Coffee, Knitting, and my little babe snuggled in his bed....

Awe

A sugar maple tree by my parents house turned quite early this year and we were able to hold Hans up against the colors one afternoon. In one picture he's not smiling and in the other picture he's smiling, but blurry, however I still love the color's and the object! =-) His uncle and tia gave Hans a special blessings for baby calendar. This is the verse for today, Sept. 29th: You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in Your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. Psalm 139:15-16 NLT The fall weather, the colors of the leaves on the trees, the crying of my baby as he is trying to fall asleep right now (oops, maybe not that last one...), these pictures, and this verse are all reminding me today how Awesome our God truly is!

The New Looks

Hans is growing up. There's no doubt about that! These photo's show a couple of ways I'm noticing this change daily. He loves his sippy cup. He loves to hold it by himself and chew on it. The look of Hans behind a sippy cup like this just pulls on me. He looks like such a big boy and I love it! Of course, I have the my-boy-is growing-up sadness but that just gets eaten up by how cute he is looking when he's "so big!". They say it's "like taking candy from a baby", meaning, It's Easy. But after you take said "candy" (or toy, or cell phone....) away from baby, you have to deal with this..... One of the many ways Hans is showing us that he is growing up. He is getting opinions and showing us his wants and displeasure. We just love it all up though. This boy has got some guts and loves to show his blossoming personality everyday. It helps that the crying lasts all of 7 seconds too! =-)

Ahhhh...

Ok, I'm in love with this time of year. I love the smell that is in the air and the crisp feel that is in the air {finally!}. I love the kids getting ready for school, buying school supplies and new backpacks. And, I can almost smell the exhaust from the school busses! Don't get me wrong, I definitely enjoy and eagerly anticipate spring and summer {especially after those cold, long winter months of blah} so I guess I just love-me some season change! =-) Today, the sun is out and it's perfectly mid- 70's. I'm just kicking back with my little boy taking it ALL in. These are the moments that I'll cherish and look back on, the moments I'll never get back and never duplicate. This time with just Hans and I. By the way, Hans is a little crawler! He is starting to follow me around from room to room now. Granted, he is not fast quite yet, but it's only a matter of time. A couple of days ago, I went into his room after his nap time, and he was standing...

It's all about the shoes

It's amazing how much can be told in a pair of shoes. After Tom proposed to me, he went to work a golf tournament in Boston. He came back with these shoes, for our baby some day. We kept them safely tucked away until that special time came. Then one day, I found out that I was pregnant with our little baby! I dug out these little shoes and put them in a little gift bag on Tom's pillow. He came home to find this amazing surprise! We cried, laughed, prayed, and hugged. We were so thrilled that we were going to be parents! We had one and a half years of marriage and the pregnancy was a complete surprise but we were so ready and excited to welcome this little baby into our lives. 9 weeks later, we found out we lost that precious little baby. It was very traumatic, it was very sad, but we had to cling to the fact that this was all in God's perfect plan. For some reason, he wanted to take that little one home to Him early. We grieved and prayed and clung to the hope t...

Reflections

Just a little reminiscing over here. I love looking back at Hans' old photos to compare with his current pics. So cute to see how he has grown! Of course, it's sad to think how fast it's all going but we're just relishing every single moment of him! This photo was taken at just a couple weeks old... This photo was taken today, at 6 months! Such a big little guy!

Packing Up

Earlier this week I saw my old kindergarten class graduate from kindergarten and today I went to the school and collected all of my boxes, folders, books, and everything teaching related. Soon, I will be starting the process of going through each item and packing it away for storage as we have made the decision that I will stay at home with Hans for awhile and "hold off" on a full time teaching position. I am so so happy about this decision because 100% of me wants to stay home with Hans and I am so incredibly thankful that I have this opportunity. As I pack up my teaching things, I can't help but reflect on the past 4 years and the fun times I have had and the incredible little children that I have had the blessing to teach. Of course there were rough times/children/classes but who remembers those things when you're reminiscing?? Here are some photo's I came across that bring a smile to my face... "farmers" shearing their sheep mud party anyone??? don...
