"Snow" Shower for our "Snow" Baby

This past Saturday my sisters threw me and our baby boy a shower. I couldn't have asked for a better time with better company. Everything was so perfect from the weather, decorations, people, etc. I left beaming from ear to ear and so excited to get everything home and set up for our little bundle coming this January.
The theme of the shower was a "Snow Shower" for a "Snow baby boy". This picture is a little dark but it has pictures of Tom and I in the snow and an ultrasound picture of our little snow baby.

My sisters that hosted the shower. I love you and had such a great time!
Thank you for hosting such a special time!
My mom also helped out a lot and her creative touches can be seen throughout the shower pictures. Thank you mom, I love you and hope that I turn out to be a wonderful mother like you have been to me!
Party favors included a personalized vanilla scented candle,
"let it snow, let it snow, let it snow"
and personalized m&m's with baby's ultrasound picture and all!!

The delicious cake with blueberry filling...
The lunch spread...

he'll be driving around just like his daddy in this golf cart...

Tom was able to pop in for a quick visit after the shower. We had just enough time to show off some gifts and snap a picture before he had to leave for work again...
Daddy and Mommy....
Thank you to all of our family and friends that made this day so special! I truly had a wonderful time and cannot believe how blessed I am to have such great friends and family that are already loving and welcoming our little son into our family. Thank you!!

10 Minutes to a room you'll love

I'm wondering what my husband will think when he asks me "What did you do today?" and my answer won't involve shopping! Wait, I take that back, it DID involve shopping....shopping from my house (Nester Style)! The Nesting Place has been having a series on how to re-vamp rooms in your house in just 10 minutes. She encourages you to find things around your room and just add some changes here and there. I was inspired and decided to rise and shine early Saturday morning (with the help of some snow blowers outside) and apply these strategies to our ever so desperate bedroom.  I have really neglected decorating our bedroom until about 10 minutes ago so please don't judge the before pictures!  Keep in mind that I'm NOT finished yet and I may just end up going shopping OUTSIDE of the house for a few things. However, this 10 minute make-over has made our room just a bit more cozy!! Step 1 : Make the Bed  *Before* *After* Step 2: Personalize it.  Create a tables

It's a ....

We had the big 20 week ultrasound today and decided to invite the family over that evening for a gender reveal! Tom and I found out during the ultrasound and kept it a secret (which was super hard to do, even for a few hours!) until we had our family over. We found this really cute idea on how to "reveal" your babies gender from our friends here . We made cupcakes And inside of the cupcakes we filled it with colored frosting (pink for a girl, blue for a boy...not telling yet, wait for it....) Hans was so excited for everyone to get there (see? it was even hard for Hans to keep the secret!). He ran and got daddy's shoes and was putting them on by the door. Everyone chose a plate and a cupcake and we went into the living room to bite into it together... And...... IT'S A GIRL!!!!! Hans is already learning how to blame things on his little sister...tsk tsk. Hans, we totally saw you eat the cupcake, silly! We missed a lot of family members that really wanted to be the

I did it!

Last night, we whipped up this shirt for Hans from an old t-shirt of Tom's that was in a rag pile. We used this tutorial from the blog I mentioned a few days ago, MADE . Even though it was my first time making a clothing item (I made a little jewelry bag a few weeks ago to re-fresh my sewing skills) post high school home ec, I'm super happy with how it turned out. The tutorial is referred to the "90 minute shirt" but it took a little longer with that. =-) I'm completely inspired to make more cute things for my lil guy!!
