I've been wanting to do something using pages from a book since this past Christmas when I saw a wreath made from torn book pages. I had a little extra time while my baby was napping so I decided to give it a whirl.
The original plan was to make an Easter egg wreath by covering plastic Easter eggs with torn book pages....after gluing pages on about 6 eggs, I decided to head in a different direction....one that didn't require me gluing around 25 eggs... =)
The final decision? I made a beautiful spring centerpiece. My table has been sort of neglected ever since the death of the beautiful flowers we received when my son was born. And lately my dining room table has had a mixture of sorted mail and half finished scrap booking pages scattered all over. This centerpiece is a welcome addition to our spring decor.
I had the pedestal bowl and nestled the book-page-covered eggs among moss covered rocks (from the dollar store).
The squirrel is from Home Goods. My mom bought it for me while we were there because I said it reminds me of my baby boy =). He likes to keeps his hands up by his face and look ALL over with his cute little eyes...just like my spring squirrel!
We are expecting beautiful weather this week so Hans and I will be outside a lot. However, I do have some things on the agenda this week.
Last year we grew wheat grass in a clear glass jar. It was so simple and beautiful and grew really fast! I plan on picking up some wheat grass seeds sometime this week. Also, I need to make Hans' Easter basket for his First Easter!!!
Oh how I adore those book-page eggs!
