We had a blast celebrating Hans' 2nd Birthday! Hans woke up on his birthday with a room full of balloons. With Daddy's help, he promptly filled his crib with the balloons and began a game of hide-and-seek. Needless to say, he woke up pretty happy! His birthday-balloon-fun was followed by a delicious snowman pancake breakfast before heading off to Bible study with Mommy and Caroline. He loved having his snowman pancakes! If you ever want to spice up your meals with toddlers cookie cutters work wonders! I will sometimes cut out his sandwiches with our cookie cutters and that sure keeps him occupied for awhile. He enjoyed driving around PB&J trains all over his plate the other day. After naps, we took Hans out to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner. The animals and thunderstorms really did their trick at keeping him distracted during the (looong) wait for the food. We also let him open up one of his gifts (Lightning Mcqueen) before dinner arrived. He loved playing with Daddy...

We had the big 20 week ultrasound today and decided to invite the family over that evening for a gender reveal! Tom and I found out during the ultrasound and kept it a secret (which was super hard to do, even for a few hours!) until we had our family over. We found this really cute idea on how to "reveal" your babies gender from our friends here . We made cupcakes And inside of the cupcakes we filled it with colored frosting (pink for a girl, blue for a boy...not telling yet, wait for it....) Hans was so excited for everyone to get there (see? it was even hard for Hans to keep the secret!). He ran and got daddy's shoes and was putting them on by the door. Everyone chose a plate and a cupcake and we went into the living room to bite into it together... And...... IT'S A GIRL!!!!! January came and went in a whirlwind! It's really hard for me to believe that it is actually February. I'm really excited to settle back in at home and get back into the regular routine. I'm actually looking forward to regular things like....laundry and cleaning! I told Tom that that's all it takes for me to appreciate and look forward to housework....a vacation! So, looks like I'll just have to take a mandatory vacation each month. Haha! Wouldn't that be nice? The beginning of January consisted of setting aside Christmas decorations and gifts and getting prepared for our little man to turn one! And turn one he did! We had such a great time celebrating with family and friends that have been there from the beginning, watching our little peanut grow up right along with us. We had a "golf" birthday party theme for Hans and held the party at Tom's golf course. It was a freezing cold day but we had a blast with everyone at the party! We made ma...
