So here we have some before shots of our nursery. Before this special room became the "nursery", it was...um, not really used. We called it the "office", but really it was a junk room with the doors permanently closed.
With a little {a lot} bit of TLC, Tom was able to whip this room in shape.
Here are the most current pictures of our little one's nursery. We're pretty much finished but we need our precious baby in the crib! Our nursery is a story book/scandinavian/nordic theme. The inspiration came from a old Hansel and Gretel painting that my mom and I found. The painting is currently in a green frame on the blue shelf above the rocking chair.
My mom painted the painting above our changing table. The painting shows two bear cubs playing together in the woods.
Tom made these tie backs for our curtains using antlers from deer that he has shot on past hunting trips...
Antique toy blocks on the shelf...
To create our special "nordic" nursery, we used items from basically all over the place. Thankfully, we took our time creating this room, so we never had to spend a fortune on any one item. We used antiques and things from thrift stores. The blue shelves were found on craigslist for $15. The blue side table was actually picked up on the side of the road, for free. The red crib is from a cute baby boutique near our house but was on super clearance. And the changing table was something we purchased from Ikea (leksvik brand) for a reasonable price.
We're so happy with how everything turned out!
You did a beautiful job!
